Disposal Horror Stories
It seems every woman has their own disposal horror story or at the very least has heard of one or more.
Here are just a few of the typical stories out there. Thankyou to those of you who shared them with us.
Colleen M. of Tea Tree Gully SA:
Her story is about one of her son's girlfriends. The girlfriend, 16 yrs of age, was taking a bath at their house. Having nowhere to dispose of her used pad she put it in a small bin meant for bathroom rubbish. Some time later the family dog attracted by the smell got into the small bin and took his prize into the lounge room. In front of the Father and my Aunt's other son he proceeded to rip the used sanitary pad into pieces.
Martha P. of Heidelberg VIC
My daughter was too embarrassed to walk in front of everyone and use the house bin so she was putting her used pads in an old handbag under her bed. By the time I found out what she was doing the bag was overflowing. It took me ages to air the smell out.
Megan F. of Valley View SA
My sister was putting her used pads down the toilet. The plumbing got blocked and Dad called out a plumber. The plumber had to pull all of the pads out of the piping. My sister was completely humiliated. It's not something you get over very quickly.
Chrissy W. of Frenches Forest NSW
I used to have a few sleepovers when I was a teenager. One morning my Mother sternly asked me into the kitchen saying ‘Get rid of it!' One of my girlfriends had put their used pad in the kitchen bin, which was one of those that was built into the kitchen cupboard and opened when you opened the cupboard door. So as you can imagine when Mum had opened the door the lid sprang open to reveal a very used sanitary pad just sitting on the top of the rest of the rubbish staring up at her.
